The hero studio

A hero that looks like them, powered by what they eat

In the hero studio every child designs a look-alike hero — then earns capes, boots and auras through real meals. The avatar is the child's stake in the story, which is why it works.

The short answer Every Food Replay child creates a personalised look-alike avatar in the hero studio — eyes, hair, skin, style — then unlocks hero gear (capes, boots, auras) by eating well and keeping streaks. Gear is bought with earned Sparks only; there is no cash cosmetic shop and nothing can be taken away.

Why a look-alike hero?

Because "my hero got stronger" lands differently when the hero has your freckles. During setup, kids pick eyes, hair and skin to build a small hero that reads as them — and from that moment, meals aren't rules to follow, they're how their hero powers up. Identity is the strongest motivator children have; Food Replay points it at breakfast.

The hero appears everywhere: breathing gently on the home screen, starring in the evening comic, celebrating full-power days, and sleeping when it's late. Its aura brightens with today's progress — and only today's. Yesterday can never dim it, because in Food Replay, yesterday can never dim anything.

How is gear earned?

Two ways, both healthy:

  • Sparks purchases — gear in the Arcade shop costs Sparks earned from logging. A Sky Cape might be "two more logs away," and the app says exactly that: an invitation with a visible finish line.
  • Milestone unlocks — streaks, tasting quests and seasonal events award signature pieces you can't buy at all.

What gear isn't: purchasable with money (no cosmetic cash shop exists), removable as punishment (nothing earned can be taken), or comparative (no "rarer than your sister's" mechanics). The hero also changes with the seasons — four seasonal worlds repaint the home screen through the year, and the hero's aura follows.
